Iran short film to vie at US filmfest

Iranian director Kamal Parnak’s short film ‘Hasti’ is to vie at Richmond International Film Festival in the US.

The film has previously been screened at many international festivals and won awards including Student Short Film prize at Sose International Film Festival in Armenia and best film award at Tehran International Short Film Festival.

The movie narrates the story of Hasti, a little girl who loses her mother at a very young age, while she doesn’t have any interpretation of death.

The viewer tries to analyze the philosophical meaning of death alongside the main character of the film.

The Richmond International Film Festival is a competitive festival that screens more than 120 international cutting edge films, making it one of the Mid-Atlantic's largest international competitive festivals.

The 2017 festival is to take place on March 2-5, in the US.
